Atlantic Medical backs swim club

ATLANTIC Medical has partnered with the Barracudas Swim club to host the first Atlantic Medical Invitational swim meet this weekend at the Betty Kelly-Kenning Aquatic Center.  Atlantic Medical is enthusiastic and excited to be a part of this event.

“We encourage healthy lifestyles and place great emphasis on developing healthy fit kids with an emphasis on fitness, fun, charity and community,” said Lisa Bellot, Marketing Coordinator at Atlantic Medical. “Therefore, Atlantic Medicals sponsorship of the Barracuda swim club was a perfect fit.”

Bellot further stated that “swimming is an activity that excels both in and out of the pool as it develops discipline, passion and commitment to the sport and to the overall life of a child.”

In response, Dion Gibson, president of the Barracuda Swim Club stated: “We are so pleased to enter into this partnership with Atlantic Medical. They have been a leader in the community for many years and we are excited to have them as a sponsor.”

Gibson also also said their coaching staff has prepared our swimmers well and this weekend’s swim meet is expected to be very competitive.

“This club has been building champions for many years and continues to ensure that the sport of swimming grows for generations to come as they guide and build young champions who have a passion and determination to be Olympians,” Gibson said.

Swimming is stronger than ever in the Bahamas and has rapidly been growing in popularity and participation over the years. The meet is expected to provide swimmers an opportunity to qualify for Carifita 2013 being held over the Easter weekend in Kingston, Jamaica.

“We encourage the public to support the various swimmers from 12 swim clubs in the Bahamas who will participate in this meet,” Gibson said.

“If you haven’t experienced the excitement of a swim meet, you are all invited to come and feel the Barracuda Spirit at the Betty Kelly-Kenning Center Friday evening and Saturday.”
