Boy in hospital after being beaten in street

A 15-year-old boy is fighting for his life in hospital today after being attacked by a group of men Wednesday afternoon.

Police say the boy, a resident of Exuma Street, was on Peter Street between Market Street and Baillou Hill Road around 4pm when he was attacked by a group of men and beaten severely.

The teen was taken to hospital by ambulance where he is listed in critical condition.

Anyone with information that can assist police with their investigations is asked to contact them at 919, the Central Detective Unit at 502-9991 or Crime Stoppers at 328-TIPS.

Police are also requesting the public’s assistance in locating the persons responsible for the shooting of a 20-year-old man of Apple Street.

It happened around 8pm Wednesday.

Police say the victim was sitting in his vehicle, along with others when gunshots were heard.

The victim’s leg was grazed and he was taken to hospital where he was treated and discharged.

Active police investigations continue.

Police are also looking for the man responsible for robbing a man and woman in the parking lot of a business establishment on East Bay Street.

The incident reportedly occurred around 2:45 am on Thursday.

The man was robbed of an undetermined amount of cash, an I-phone and watch and the woman of her jewellery.
