Pond clean-up party

THE Sandals Foundation joined the Bahamas National Trust in its ongoing efforts to manage the invasive cattails at Harrold and Wilson Ponds National Park on Saturday.

The Sandals team along with BNT staff cleared an area in front of the first viewing platform, creating a clear view of the ponds and the birds which call Harrold and Wilson Ponds home.

BNT education officer Portia Sweeting said: “This was a much needed activity and we really appreciate the Sandals volunteer effort. This park is one of our most popular field trips with schools studying wetlands and having a clear view of the ponds is a very important part of the experience for the students.”
