A MAN accused of breaking into an Urban Renewel Project Centre and making off with nearly two dozen electronic items worth thousands of dollars was arraigned in Magistrate’s Court yesterday.
Naylando Moxey, 23, appeared before Chief Magistrate Roger Gomez in Court 1.
He faced one charge each of shop breaking and stealing.
It is claimed that the break-in took place between New Year’s Eve and January 1, 2013 at the Centreville Urban Renewal Project Centre.
It is claimed that he stole 12 computers (values not listed), an iPhone 3S worth $400, a Blackberry Curve worth $300, two Triton bracelets worth $400, a silver iPad with case worth $500, a black Fuji digital camera worth $300, a Toshiba laptop worth $500, a charger and two Motorola police radio sets belonging to the Centreville Urban Renewal Project.
Moxey pleaded not guilty to the charges and elected to be tried in the Magistrate’s Court.
When the issue of bail arose, police prosecutor Sgt Audrey Deveaux informed Chief Magistrate Gomez that the matter was listed for Court 5 before Magistrate Derence Rolle-Davis.
The chief magistrate adjourned the matter for a bail hearing to January 14 before Magistrate Rolle-Davis.
Moxey was remanded to Her Majesty’s Prison until that time.

I have to ask what an I phone , a blackberry, 2 Titon braclets, and obove all a SILVER I PHONE CASE WORTH $500 are doing in an Urban renewal center to start with???
What a waste of money, someone needs to explain to us how this can be so!!!

Always wondered if these places have proper security. All the latest technology and how is it secured? Same with the schools. Someone is always donating computers etc. to these centres/schools, followed by a press release and photo op in the papers. Just let the would-be robbers know what you have.
