VOTE yes supporters were yesterday blamed for destroying several vote no poster boards throughout New Providence.

Spokesperson of the campaign Lyall Bethel said that while he did not suspect that any vote yes official had instructed persons to vandalise the signs, he said he was convinced that it was the work of a group of supporters.

Those suspicions manifested after several of the vote no signs at various intersections in Nassau were seen torn down beside standing vote yes signs.

Pastor Bethel said: “I counted that around 9 of the signs were destroyed but I haven’t seen all of them, but I just think that this is the work of some of their supporters who are over zealous and in fear that they could lose their jobs.”

He said that the numbers bosses should be held responsible for “unleashing” a spirit of lawlessness which led to the destruction of the billboards.
