A 24-year-old man died in hospital yesterday after he was shot in the head early yesterday morning.

It happened around 10am off Kemp Road.

Police say the victim, identified as Rodney Fali, was standing on Kingston Street when he was approached by a Honda occupied by four men.

One of the men got out of the vehicle and opened fire on the victim resulting in him being shot multiple times in the upper body, including one shot to the head.

He was taken to hospital by a private vehicle where he died of his injuries a short time later.

Supt Paul Rolle, Officer in charge of the Central Detective Unit, said police have four men in custody in connection with this homicide.

The country’s murder count now stands at 10 for the year.

Meanwhile, Supt Rolle said police have one man in custody in connection with the shooting death of 22-year-old Dustin Culmer.

Culmer was shot in the head Tuesday morning as he fled from a group of men who pursued him after an argument. The murder took place around 8am near Zinna Street in the Kennedy Subdivision off Soldier Road.

Officers found the victim lying on the side of the road with a gunshot wound in his head. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigations into both matters are continuing.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 911 or 919, the Central Detective Unit at 502-9991 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 328-TIPS.

In other crime news, two men are in police custody after they were found in possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.

According to Police reports, around 10pm Officers from the Mobile Division, acting on information received, conducted a search of the two suspects at Guilin Avenue and Sumner Street, Nassau Village.

During the search the officers uncovered a handgun with a quantity of ammunition. The two suspects, ages 27 and 29, were subsequently arrested and taken into custody.

What a tragedy. I think that stores like http://www.gunproplus.com/store/">GunProPlus should pay more attention at whom they are selling the guns. Not everyone who whants should have a gun

I totally agree that is a big tragedy and yes stores should pay attention at whom they are selling guns. But although, they don't require Gun License? In my country not anyone can get a gun so easily, the procedures are really drastic and they need a license. http://despreplatfus.tumblr.com/">Thank you!
