Inaugural race to bring a splash of colour to Nassau

A new fun run event will bring a splash of colour to the Montagu Foreshore this month.

The inaugural 242 Colour Run is a 5k race for all ages and fitness levels, taking place Saturday July 13.

The event is not timed and participants can walk, run, jump, skip or hop while being bombarded by coloured powder along every kilometre of the course.

Contestants can wear their race gear or fancy dress - prizes will be awarded for best costume - and there will be other prizes and entertainment at the finish.

The course will leave Montagu Foreshore starting at 8am, heading West along Bay St (one lane of traffic will be closed for the race), cross over to Paradise Island via the old bridge, and return over the Sidney Poitier Bridge, turning East down Bay St to return to Montagu. Along the way there will be colour stations, water/support stations and plenty of entertainment.

You can register at any Sports Centre or at http://www.active.com/running/nassau-/242-colour-run-2013.
