Mystery surrounds death of four-year-old boy

POLICE are investigating the circumstances into the death of a four-year-old child on Friday.

Information surrounding the incident is still sketchy, but police say the little boy, a resident of Baillou Hill Road South, was taken to the hospital around 11:55am Friday and pronounced dead.

Investigations into this matter continue.

• Police are also investigating the armed robbery of VIP Chinese Restaurant.

It happened around 2:35pm Saturday.

According to reports, a man, armed with a weapon, entered the restaurant, kicked in the door to the cashier’s booth and robbed them of an undetermined sum of money before escaping on foot in the direction of Summer Haven Road.

He was wearing a long sleeved camouflage jacket with black and tan coloured trousers.

If anyone has any information on this robbery they are asked to contact the police at 911 or 919, the Central Detective Unit at 502-9991 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 328-TIPS.

In other crime news, two males and a female are in police custody after being found in possession of a quantity of suspected marijuana.

Officers of the Central Division arrested the suspects around 2:30pm on Saturday after executing a search warrant on a home in the Rock Crusher area.

The drugs have an estimated weight of three and a half pounds and an estimated street value of $3,500.

Active police investigations continue.
