Two held over latest murder

POLICE have two men in custody in connection with the country’s latest murder.

Terell Williams, 26, was shot to death Saturday afternoon in the area of Augusta Street.

According to reports, the victim was at a residence on Wilkerson Street,when he was approached by two men and shot multiple times in the chest.

He was taken to hospital in a private vehicle, and died of his injuries a short time later.

Officers of the Selective Enforce Unite, arrested the suspects, shortly after the incident.

Investigations are continuing.

This latest incident takes the country’s murder count to 58 for the year.

A 19-year-old youth of Silver Gates is recovering in hospital after being stabbed multiple times on Friday.

Police say around 7:30pm, the victim was in the area of Silver Gates when he was approached and subsequently stabbed by a man who he knew. He was taken to hospital by ambulance where he is listed in serious, but stable condition.

A 31-year-old man of Cunningham Close off Kemp Road is also in hospital after his hands had been chopped. It happened around 4pm on Friday.

Police say the victim was at Mackey Street, north of Wulff Road, when he got into an argument with a man he knew.

He was taken to hospital where his condition at present is unknown. Active police investigations continue.
