REMNANTS of the weather system Chantal are moving northwards and may bring thunderstorms to the Bahamas this weekend.
According to Patricia Strachan-Weeks of the Department of Meteorology, Chantal no longer exists as Tropical Storm Chantal.
The National Hurricane Center in Miami said yesterday the system had a low, 20 per cent, chance of becoming a tropical cyclone over the weekend.
“However, we are keeping showers and thunderstorms as a possibility in the forecast,” said Mrs Strachan-Weeks.
Friday night, the system was just east-northeast of Great Abaco in the northwestern Bahamas.
