THE country’s murder count rose to 64 Thursday night after a man was shot dead in his car.It happened at about 10.26pm in the area of Wulff Road and Peardale.
Police say they received a call that gunshots were heard and when they arrived they found a man inside a red Honda. He had a gunshot wound to the head.
The victim was taken to hospital by ambulance but died a short time later.
Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 911 or 919, the Central Detective Unit at 502-9991 or Crime Stoppers at 328-TIPS.
Police are also questioning a 24-year-old man of Lincoln Boulevard over a stabbing at about 9am on Wednesday. Police say the victim was at Lincoln Boulevard when he was attacked and repeatedly stabbed. He was taken to hospital where he was treated and discharged.
A 29-year-old man, of Summer Haven Estates, is in police custody for allegedly robbing a man of his black Honda coupe around 10.45pm on Thursday at Malcolm Road. Officers of the Mobile Division arrested the suspect around 1.45am on Friday at his residence and recovered the stolen vehicle. Police are searching for a second man in connection with the alleged robbery.
