A QUIET community was left devastated yesterday after an argument between two brothers turned fatal when one of them was stabbed to death.

Authorities were able to release the victim’s name, as he was positively identified by his mother as 30-year-old Denero Rolle, a married father of one child.

When The Tribune arrived at the home, which the brothers shared at Sharene Street, off St Vincent Road, family members were still gathered outside. The victim’s lifeless body had yet to be removed from the house.

According to Central Detective Unit chief Paul Rolle, police received a call about an argument at around 10:30am to which they responded.

“They then found that a male was involved in an argument with his brother who is age 39. EMS responded to the scene and pronounced the younger brother deceased,” he said.

As news of the tragedy resonated with relatives, many of them were inconsolable. The victim’s mother had to be taken to hospital for medical care after experiencing complications.

Relatives who did not wish to be named told The Tribune that the family is struggling to understand how the situation could have escalated to that degree. They said the brothers often argued, but no one imagined a tragic ending.

At around 11:50 am, officials arrived to remove the body from the home.

Authorities said investigations are continuing into the incident that has pushed the murder count to 64 for the year.
