WILLARD Rolle, 42, was arraigned in court yesterday charged with having sex between June and July with a 13-year-old girl.
Representatives for the prosecution introduced a voluntary bill of indictment and the case was adjourned to August 15.
Although the prosecution’s representative did not insist that Rolle be denied bail, the magistrate nonetheless told him to prepare submissions explaining why he deserves bail. He was told to expect to make his submissions on Friday. Rolle also told the court he was a virtual complainant in an ongoing attempted murder case.
The magistrate said she would tell the Superintendent of Prisons about Rolle’s security concerns that might arise given his connections to the present case.
Rolle was remanded to prison until Friday.
