LUNDY Robinson, skipper of both the A Class Red Stripe and B Class Eudeva, dominated the 2013 National Family Island Regatta that was held last month in picturesque Elizabeth Harbour, George Town, Exuma.

Over the weekend, Danny Strachan, the chairman and commodore of the regatta, released the official results, adding that they were pleased to host their 60th anniversary of the event, which he feels will go down as the best ever after a week of spectacular sloop sailing.

The regatta was dedicated to four outstanding contributors, Captain Brooks Miller from Staniel Cay, Exuma, Captain Emmett Munroe from Ragged Island, Captain Harry Harding of Salt Pond, Long Island and Eleazor Johnson of Acklins Island.

The event was attended many dignitaries including the Governor General Sir Arthur Foulkes and Lady Foulkes, Prime Minister Perry Christie, Deputy Prime Minister Philip Davis and many other Cabinet Ministers.

According to Strachan, the committee wished to say “thank you Bahamas for making the 60th Jubilee Regatta the best ever”.

Strachan added that they are already in the planning stages for the hosting of the 61st National Family Island Regatta in picturesque Elizabeth Harbour, Georgetown, Exuma from April 22-26th.
