PRESIDENT of China Xi Jinping met with Prime Minister Perry Christie in Port of Spain, Trinidad over the weekend.
This was the first visit of a sitting Chinese President to the region.
The Prime Minster and the President agreed on a new package of technical support worth $8 million.
Details of the spending are to be settled in Nassau in talks with Chinese officials.
The President visited the Bahamas 2006.
He recalled fondly his stay at Atlantis and a fishing trip during which he caught a meal.
Prime Minister returned to Nassau last night.
