FOR BAHAMAS

DURING the Inside the NBA show on TNT following game seven of the Eastern Conference Final between the Miami Heat and the Indiana Pacers, the Bahamas got mentioned several times by one of the colour commentators, Charles “Sir Charles” Barkley.

Hall of Famer Barkley, a former forward in the NBA with the Philadelphia 76ers, Phoenix Suns and Houston Rockets, was making a comment about Rapper Flo Rida’s jewellery he was wearing as he sat at courtside in the American Airlines Arena in Miami, Florida on Monday night.

As he asked for the camera crew to replay the photo of Rida’s huge chain around his neck, the bracelet on his hand and the ring on his finger, Barkley said the jewellery was very expensive. Shaquille ‘Shaq’ O’Neal noted that it wasn’t all real, but Barkley said it was.

He then indicated that he would pass up the opportunity to purchase the items and come to “the Bahamas” instead. Barkley said that’s why “I have a condo in the Bahamas.” With TNT’s coverage of the NBA completed after the game, Barkley said he will probably watch the finals between the Heat and the San Antonio Spurs from the Bahamas.

The Heat blew out the Pacers 99-76 to clinch the Eastern Conference title with a 4-3 decision and now they will take on the Spurs in the best-of-seven championship series that is scheduled to start on Thursday in Miami. The Spurs swept the Memphis Grizzlies in four straight games to secure the Western Conference title.
