Police have also removed three handguns from the streets of New Providence. In the first incident, a 23-year-old man of Mollie Street and an 18-year-old girl were arrested when they were found with a handgun. Officers arrested them shortly before 4am on Monday.

In the second incident, a 38-year-old man of Walnut Street, Pinewood Gardens, was arrested after officers searched his residence and found a handgun and ammunition.

In the third incident, police uncovered a handgun from the rear of a business on East Street South after officers of the Drug Enforcement Unit, acting on information, searched the area.

In addition, a 21-year-old Carmichael Road man was arrested on suspicion of being linked to a recent murder. Shortly before 1:00 am on Sunday a man was found on Wulff Road, west of Jerome Avenue, with multiple bodily stab wounds. A suspect in this incident was arrested yesterday at Lazaretta Road off Carmichael Road.
