Growth workshops target small firms

The Caribbean Export Development Agency (Caribbean Export) is teaming up with the Ministry of Financial Services to assist small and medium-sized Bahamian businesses (SMEs) that want to grow and expand.

In partnership with the Deutsche Gesellschaft fur Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), Caribbean Export will for the first time offer the ProNET training scheme to Bahamian businesses via June 18-21, workshops in Nassau.

ProNET is a training programme for SME owners who want to grow their businesses and become more competitive. SMEs are defined as enterprises with more than five but less than 25 employees. The programme is currently designed for manufacturing enterprises, with plans to expand to firms in the services sector.

Caribbean Export will be facilitating the training of up to 50 SMEs from the Bahamas at the Sheraton Nassau Beach Resort on June 18-21, 2013.

The training starts at 8.30am and concludes at 5.30 pm daily. Attending firms will receive training in areas such as business strategy, resource management and cost/financial management.

Included in these modules are topics that address a firm’s competitive advantage, product strategy, production planning, procurement strategies, break-even analysis and cash flow planning.

Persons interested in taking part in ProNET training should contact EPS Consultants and its principal, Don Demeritte, at info@exproserv.com or 362-1044. For general queries about ProNet training, please contact Caribbean Export Advisor, Robertha Reid at rreid@carib-export.com
