SOFTBALL

BANKERS LEAGUE

THE Bankers Softball League continued its regular season at the Bankers Field, Baillou Hills Sporting Complex, with Fidelity out-slugging BAF 15-12 on Wednesday night.

Rory Newbold was the winning pitcher and Burton Saunders suffered the loss.

Fidelity scored two runs in the first, one in the second, six in the third, four in the fourth and two in the sixth. They had a total of 15 hits and committed six errors. BAF had four runs in the first, two in the second, three in the fifth and three more in the seventh. However, they had 17 hits and made five errors.

David Gardiner went 2-for-3 with a pair of home runs, driving in three runs and scoring two times.

Alec Rolle had a perfect 4-for-4 day with a double and two homers, two RBI and four runs scored and Chavez Thompson was also perfect at 3-for-3 with two doubles, driving in two runs and scoring three times.

Reynaldo Knowles went 1-for-3 with a homer, three RBI and a run scored.

Levan Cox was 3-for-4 with two homers, three RBI and two runs scored and Greg Jones was 2-for-4 with two doubles, scoring four times.

The Bankers League is slated to be back in action 11am Saturday.

NPSA ACTION

THE New Providence Softball Association is scheduled to play a double header in the Bankers Field, Baillou Hills Sporting Complex, on Saturday.

In the 7pm opener, the Scorpions will face the Lady Hitters (L). That will be followed by the feature contest at 8:30pm between the Miller Rams and the Mighty Mitts (M).
