THE women of Living Waters Kingdom Ministries are ready for their highly anticipated three day ‘G5’ women’s conference next Monday through Wednesday.

G5, which stands for “Glamourous Girls Giving God Glory,” is expected to gather many Bahamians to the church grounds next week.

The event’s host, Olivia Wells, told Tribune Religion: “Our theme for this year is “Fully Clothed, Walking in Grace,” and this is the first time we are hosting the conference. Our theme is inspired by our desire to see women coming to an understanding of their identity.”

Ms Wells said: “We want them to understand who they are and their self worth. Our focus for G5 is to rebuild and again, we are rebuilding identity, restoring self confidence and reaffirming self value. We want to assist women by the help of God to come to an understanding of the value that is placed within them.”

With the conference, Ms Wells said they are also trying to bring women together so that they can realise and understand that everything they need to survive is within them.

“If we can just have one lady who would walk out at the end of the three days, holding her head up and understanding that her place of birth or the family that she was born into has nothing to do with her destiny and where she is heading, we would have fulfilled our purpose,” said Ms Wells.

She added: “We want them to know that they can achieve more and we want to bring ladies to a place where they are not relying on someone else, whether it is a man or a woman, to make their lives better for them.”

Ms Wells said: “Because I have treasure within and self confidence, I am not afraid to step out and try to survive by myself if I have to. Because I know who I am, I am not settling for another person’s negative opinion of me to become my reality. We are really hoping that at the end of the day, women would understand and walk away with this message.”

The conference will begin on Monday with international guest speaker of the night Dee Dee Freeman, of Sprit of Faith Christian Center Temple Hills, Maryland. Ms Wells said there will also be music entertainment and fine-art selections.

Additional speakers for the conference include Raymond Wells (Senior Pastor of Living Waters Kingdom Ministries), and Raenell Wells (Founder of LLITE).

Ms Wells said: “We have a lot that is going on. It is not the usual women’s conference that takes place here in the Bahamas or one that we would normally have in the past here at Living Waters.”
She said it is not their intention to have women attend the conference and leave with just a sentimental feeling. Ms Wells said she encourages all women to leave the conference with a sense of principle as well.

She said: “We get to this place where we are so emotional and we tend to release our pain and whatever we are dealing with for a moment. We are praising God, which is the idea, giving God the glory, but we also want to leave with principles.

“Principles are given with every conference we have, but when you see the talent before you and on display next week, you will leave with something different and you will leave with some kind of connection to inspire you to make your dream a reality,” said Ms Wells.
