Car dealer hosts mechanic seminar

Freeport Jet Wash last week hosted a parts training session for all registered mechanics on Grand Bahama.

“As part of our goal to improve our clients’ knowledge of the parts we sell, we offered a free training seminar to local mechanics,” said Freeport Jet Wash general manager, Larry Albury.

“Federal-Mogul Corporation, our leading car parts supplier, provided the trainer for the event, and our team also attended to learn all of the new and updated facts and information on the parts they sell.”

John Mendez, Federal-Mogul territory sales manager, travelled to Grand Bahama, along with Rick Kearns, Federal-Mogul technical trainer, to host the seminar.

“The event was very successful and we were able to convey to mechanics and counter teams the various capabilities of today’s diagnostic equipment, new lines of vehicles coming into the country, and most importantly, how Federal-Mogul continues to pave the way with new features that enhance performance and extend the life of vehicles ” said Mr Mendez.

“We will continue to follow up with additional training and education on all the new products and techniques to continue to help local technicians how to properly diagnose and repair their customers’ vehicles.”

“It was a really great seminar,” said Kevin Musgrove, owner of K’s Auto World. “The event was an eye opener for me, and made me think about how to service my customer better. I learned many new things, particularly how to confirm problems properly and purchase the right replacement parts.”

“We had a strong turnout of mechanics, and John and Rick gave us all a very informative presentation, sharing their experience and informing us on the ever changing parts industry,” said Mr Albury.

“They gave us a history on fuel injectors from the 70’s to present, and discussed the importance of the diagnostic equipment necessary to find problems effectively. Many do not realise it’s a complicated and ever-changing business, and you need to keep up to date with the state of the art service needs of today’s vehicles.”
