We are in need of sifting

EDITOR, The Tribune.

THE Book of Amos reminds us that God sifts nations to see what needs to be taken away and what should be saved. Reading the local tabloids and listening to radio about what is happening in our nation should inform us that we are in need of sifting.

I am not referring to the crime that we keep track of statistically. I am referring to the going-ons behind the scenes that are now causing disruptions in places and institutions that we thought were immune to such activity. We have finally reached the place where even the most learned among us, be they Doctor, Pastor, Lawyer or Priest are defining right and wrong in purely political terms. I do not think we are aware of how eventful this 40-year milestone can be; we may have to make a change to the preamble before July 10, 2013 to avoid judgment. My hope and prayer is that we do not have to take another trip through the wilderness.
