Hunt for two men after teenage boy is shot

POLICE are on the hunt for two men who shot a 17-year-old boy over the weekend.

According to reports, the incident took place at Monastery Park around 6pm. The youth was taken to hospital, treated, and discharged.

Police are appealing to members of the public who might have information on this incident to contact them.

Police are also searching for the man responsible for robbing a business in the area of Soldier Road and East Street.

Shortly after 10pm on Friday, a man wearing a yellow-striped shirt and camouflage pants entered the establishment, armed with a handgun.

He robbed the business of an undetermined amount of cash before fleeing the area on foot in an unknown direction.

The incident is currently under investigation by police who request the public’s help in locating the culprit. Anyone with information regarding the robbery is asked to contact police.

Meanwhile in Harbour Island, three night clubs were shut down during an overnight police operation.

On Saturday night, local officers shut down the clubs for breach of the Business License Act during operation “Night Club.”

Also, Harbour Island police are questioning a 50-year-old Harbour Island man about a burglary. The man was arrested by police around 2am on Saturday. Police also confiscated items from the man that were reportedly stolen during a burglary.

Back in the capital, four men – ages 37, 33, 31, and 27 – are in police custody after being found in possession of a quantity of suspected marijuana.

Central Division officers arrested the men around 12:30am after executing a search warrant on a Summer Street home in Nassau Village.

Cash, believed to be the proceeds from the sale of drugs, was also confiscated by officers.

Police also recovered two weapons on Friday. The first was removed from a bushy area in Ferguson Subdivision shortly after 3pm. The second – a shotgun – was removed shortly after 6pm from a property on Sapodilla Boulevard off East Street.

No arrests were made.
