OUR coverage of the ‘Fabulous 40’ fathers honoured by Mount Tabor Full Gospel Church for the 40th Anniversary of Independence continues with John Wesley Ferguson, who was born on July 1, 1955 in Nassau, to Bishop Cephas and the late Clothilda Ferguson.

He was the first of nine children.

He attended the Teacher Sands Pre-School, The Wood Cock Primary School, Western Junior and Senior Schools, Oaks Field Secondary School and graduated from Prince William High School in 1972.

He enlisted in The Royal Bahamas Police Force in January 1973 and recently retired at the rank of Assistant Commissioner after completing forty years of service.

He is a minister in the Church of God of Prophecy and is the founder of The Big Harvest Community Sunday School in Woods Alley, a community based entity that caters specifically to underprivileged children and at risk youth.

He is married to Debbie Ferguson nee Goodman of Tarpum Bay Eleuthera and they have a daughter Johnette and a son Rashad. He is also the surrogate father to a whole community of children.
