PREMIERING this Saturday on the Lifetime Channel will be a film about the life of notorious former Nassau resident, the late Anna Nicole Smith.

Although her stay in the Bahamas will be covered by the film, it is unclear how much of that time will be featured or if any actors have been cast to play any local personalities.

Calls to A+E Networks for comment were not returned, but a release from the company suggested the birth of her daughter and the death of her son – both of which took place in Doctors Hospital – will be shown in the film.

And in the official trailer, scenes portraying events that took place in the Bahamas are shown.

Anna Nicole Smith was granted permanent residency in the Bahamas in 2006 by Immigration Minister Shane Gibson – a move which sparked controversy after photos of the pair in a friendly embrace were made public.

She and Howard K Stern also held a commitment ceremony aboard a sailboat in the Bahamas.

Ms Smith gave birth to her daughter, Dannielynn, in 2006 and following her death in Florida, Bahamas courts ruled that Larry Birkhead was the father.

Her son, Daniel is buried at Lake View Cemetery in western New Providence.

When Anna died in 2007 in Florida, she was also buried at Lake View Cemetery.

The Lifetime film will air at 8pm and is directed by Mary Harron and written by John Rice and Joe Batteer, according to the release.

The film will star Agnes Bruckner as Anna Nicole Smith.
