MEMBERS of the Royal Bahamas Police Force Band, the K-9 Unit, and Fire Services conducted a mini-tattoo at the Mable Walker Primary School yesterday.

Students were entertained with performances by each group as the police force band celebrates its 120th anniversary.

According to Superintendent Ronald Campbell, the band’s Director of Music, all four districts of the force will be meeting at the new Thomas A Robinson Stadium to host a major retreat and display. The date for this event has yet to be announced.

Speaking of yesterday’s performance at Mable Walker, Supt Campbell said the students there were overjoyed by what they saw.

“We wanted to treat those students today to something spectacular. We gave each one of them a writing book and they enjoyed the tattoo very much. The students really enjoyed it. Teachers who were celebrating their birthdays today we called out for the students to sing along with the band and it was very interactive.”

Supt Campbell said that this celebration of the police force band’s 120th anniversary is also being used as a recruitment drive for the entire force.
