TWO 18-year-old men are fighting for their lives in hospital after the vehicle they were in crashed into a tree in Rainbow Bay, Eleuthera, over the weekend.

Those close to Delroy Roxbuy, the driver of the champagne Honda Accord which burst into flames at the scene, said they were praying for his recovery.

The incident happened at around 3am on Saturday.

Roxbury is said to have suffered bleeding from the head and a punctured lung. He is depending on a respirator to assist with breathing.

Dequan Albury has been identified as the other passenger in critical condition. He was sitting in the front seat of the vehicle.

Another 18-year-old man and a 15-year-old were also in the car, but were not seriously injured.

They were all removed from the vehicle by bystanders before the fire erupted.

The young men were then transported to the Hatchet Bay Clinic for emergency treatment.

Both Albury and Roxbury were then taken to the Governor’s Harbour airport by the local ambulance service, HACE and then flown to New Providence by air ambulance.

The incident occurred on the same highway where a two-car collision saw an American visitor lose his life on February 4, 2013.
