POLICE yesterday said they were searching for three men responsible for two separate armed robberies.

In the first, a man was robbed of his white 2002 Honda Accord at around 8pm on Tuesday.

The victim, police said, was in the area of Lewis Street off Market Street when he was approached by two armed men.

About 30 minutes later, police said two women were robbed of their belongings at a business establishment on Palmetto Avenue.

The women told police that an armed man came into the building and demanded that they handed over their handbags and other personal items.

Meanwhile, authorities said a high powered weapon was found at a property on 3rd Street off Robinson Road yesterday.

According to reports, officers received a tip that the weapon had been discarded in that area. Police have not made any arrests.

They are urging members of the public to come forward with any information they might have.
