GB Chamber members attend 'Mix n' Mingle'

Private sector members came out to Senor Frog’s for the Grand Bahama Chamber of Commerce’s monthly ‘Mix n Mingle’ last Thursday.

Each month, the Chamber chooses a spot for managers, owners and staff at Grand Bahama companies to network. They get to meet in a casual atmosphere and talk business.

Repeat attendance at these events lets managers, who would not normally be able to get out to make these contacts, know other sin the community.

Lisa Turnquest, the Chamber’s second vice-president and fund raising chairman, said: “We are always pleased when entities such as Senor Frogs opens its arms to the GB Chamber and its membership, as it demonstrates a willingness to share in the whole process of developing and promoting our island.

“Each host is unique, and it’s our responsibility at the GB Chamber to showcase these unique features to our membership.”

Senor Frogs, capitalising on its success in Nassau, opened in Freeport late last year and has grown to be one of the most popular restaurant venues at the Lucayan Harbour.

“We were thrilled to be asked by the Chamber to host the first M&M for 2013,” said Arturo Salas, Senor Frogs Bahamas. “We have had a wonderful reception here in Grand Bahama from everyone.”

A wide variety of businesses attended this ‘Mix n Mingle’, including representatives in the shipping industry, banking, Ministry of Tourism, the hotel sector, real estate, lawyers, retailers and entrepreneurs.

The next ‘Mix n’ Mingle’ is ‘The Top of the Town’, at one of the penthouse suites at the Grand Lucayan near the end of May. The GB Chamber will also host its next monthly luncheon on May 8, and feature speakers on the topic of the impending Value-Added Tax (VAT) legislation and its effect on Freeport.

I would hardly say it's grown to be number one. Too expensive and too out of the way.
