Shooting victim dies in hospital

A shooting victim has become the country’s latest homicide after he died of his injuries this weekend.

Less than a month after he was shot on April 20, 26-year-old Gregory Miller died in hospital shortly before 1am on Saturday.

Mr Miller was shot in the stomach when he was

approached by a man at Cordeaux Avenue sometime around 2am. 

According to police, Mr Miller was a resident of Alexandria Boulevard, Nassau Village.

Meanwhile in other crime matters, officers arrested 52 people during an eight-hour “Dusk to Dawn” operation.

Persons were arrested on suspicion of armed robbery and on outstanding warrants of apprehension.

Police are searching for three men in connection with an armed robbery and shooting Saturday morning.

A security officer was making a deposit at the FINCO Branch of Royal Bank of Canada on Carmichael Road when he was approached by three men in a champagne coloured Honda Inspire sometime around 9:30am.

The 54-year-old victim is in hospital in serious condition after one of the men robbed him of his deposit bag and shot him. 

Police are also searching for a light skinned man believed to be involved in an armed robbery later that evening.

According to police, a woman’s white 2005 Honda Accord was stolen at gunpoint shortly after 7pm. The incident occurred at the parking lot of a Carmichael Road business.

Police investigations are also continuing in an armed robbery that occurred on Friday night.

A man and a woman were robbed at gunpoint by a man wearing a dark hooded jacket sometime around 11pm at Eneas Street off East Street. According to police, the gunman also assaulted the woman before he fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.
