SUB Heaven, the company holding the Subway franchise in Nassau, has expanded its network with the opening of a fourth restaurant in Palmdale, creating 12 jobs.

“The stores employ a total of 45 persons with 12 employees at the Palmdale location,” said Inga Bowleg, director of business development for the John Bull Group of Companies, which owns Sub Heaven.

“Our decision to relaunch in the Palmdale area was primarily due to customer demand.”

Bahamian luxury retailer, John Bull, further diversified its business by acquiring the rights to the Subway franchise in the Bahamas in late 2010 under its restaurants franchise division.

Since then it has opened Subway restaurants at the Mall at Marathon, Cable Beach and Charlotte Street north, which was its first location back in 2011.

Ms Bowleg said there were plans for additional Subway restaurants in the “near future” under John Bull’s restaurant franchise division.

“While we do not have a franchise commitment which obligates us to a set number of store openings in the market, we certainly do hope to launch additional stores in the near future,” said Ms Bowleg.

While the Subway franchise has been in the Bahamas for more than a decade, several restaurants had shut down in recent years. As to the performance of the Subway franchise in Nassau, Ms Bowleg said: “We remain pleased with the performance of the franchise.”
