THE “Greater Than” campaign designed by the eNue organisation has garnered great support since it was launched earlier this year, with scores of young people sharing their greater than declarations on Facebook, Twitter and Youtube.

The initiative is designed to help get the word out to young people that they are greater than anything that may be hindering them from accomplishing their dreams and therefore fulfilling their purposes.

Malika Pinder, eNue’s spokesperson, said over the past few months, young people have posted videos, pictures and status messages telling the world and the enemy that they are “greater than whatever”.

“We want to encourage anyone else to declare what they are greater than because once you’ve overcome that thing that you thought was bigger than you, you can do anything,” said Ms Pinder.

eNue publishes a free monthly magazine promoting positive living and sound advice for every day living.

“eNue is dedicated to helping young people find their purpose. What does that mean? Well, think about it, if you don’t know the purpose of something then you’ll abuse it. And it’s the same with us humans. If we don’t know why we exist, we tend to abuse ourselves. This can go anywhere from actual physical abuse, using drugs and alcohol, to simply feeling less than you really are (1 John 4:4). So in eNue, we’re all about encouraging and directing people into their purpose,” said Ms Pinder.

She said the organisation has several avenues that make up “the eNuevolution”, including a magazine, fashion line and live broadcast show. Through these mediums, Ms Pinder said the organisation will continue to help lead young people in the right direction.

“The ‘Greater Than’ campaign is actually geared toward all youth in the Bahamas and the world at large. Specifically however, we know that women often struggle with fear, low self-esteem, and really finding who they are. We’ve had countless cases of girls being dangerously involved with older men, we see teenage pregnancies today like never before, and there are young girls who are so wrapped up in low self-esteem that they do anything and everything to feel loved. And then you have the other extreme of that, where they don’t want to tap into any of their potential at all because they just don’t feel good enough,” said Ms Pinder.

She said these are things the ‘Greater Than’ campaign is catering to.

“Everything that was ever made, every successful invention you’ve ever heard of, had to start with a thought, and that thought became words. We know that if you declare something, it shall be established (Job 22:28). So if we can get the woman who is involved in prostitution, and the girl who doesn’t feel good enough for anything, the lady who has given her all to men and material things, to declare that she is greater than that giant, then that’s an important and powerful start on the road to purpose,” said Ms Pinder.

Some of the activities surrounding the campaign include a speech competition for high school students, on the topic, “If young people would learn to appreciate, embrace, and release their inner greatness, it would solve some of our country’s ills”.

The winner is expected to be awarded with a $500 cash prize as well as a trophy, donated by Wendy’s and Marco’s Pizza.

“This will be a floating trophy, as we do hope to make this event annual. This is the first one of many and we’re really excited about it. Along with this, each participant will be awarded with certificates of participation,” said Ms Pinder.
Also in July, eNue will host their first ever youth conference, the eNue experience,” as well as a music festival, under the theme “All or Nothing.”
