BLTA looks to promote tennis in schools

THREE newly elected officers of the Bahamas Lawn Tennis Association, along with John Goede, the visiting International Tennis Federation development officer for the Caribbean, met with members of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology with the view of promoting the sport in the school system.

Heading the delegation was BLTA president Derron Donaldson accompanied by vice president Bradley Bain and secretary general Ricardo Demeritte.

Goede was in town to discuss the development of tennis in the Bahamas and look at the development plans for 2013 and beyond.

The Suriname native also visited Grand Bahama where he met with the newly elected officers of the Grand Bahama Tennis Association. He also conducted a training session for the top junior players in Grand Bahama.
