Baha Mar 'will change way casino gaming is seen in Bahamas'

ON the heels of Baha Mar’s announced casino partner, Minister of Tourism Obie Wilchcombe said he believes that the hotel property will change the way casino gaming is seen in the Bahamas.

In fact, with the results that Global Gaming Asset Management (GGAM) is expected to produce Minister Wilchcombe hinted that he expects future casino licenses to eventually follow.

Currently there are eight casino licences issued for the Bahamas, with only four being in active use.

These include Baha Mar, Atlantis, Resorts World in Bimini and the Grand Lucayan in Grand Bahama.

The four inactive licenses are Ginn and Driftwood in Grand Bahama, South Ocean in New Providence, and Club Med’s license in San Salvador.
