LENO Corporate Services Limited has partnered with the Barracuda Swim Club to host the Leno-Barracuda Invitational Swim Meet May 24-25 at the Betty Kelly-Kenning Aquatic Center.

TEAM TRYOUT

THE Bahamas Basketball Federation has announced that they will be holding open tryouts for the Under-17 girls national team Saturday, May 25, at the Potential Church basketball courts on JFK Drive. The tryouts are open to all ladies from 10am to 1pm. The team is expected to travel to the Centro Basket Tournament this summer.

SMITH SUMMER

CAMP

SHERMAN Smith, who has coached his boys and girls basketball teams to numerous appearances in championship games this year, will be hosting his annual Summer Basketball Camp at the Carlton E Francis Primary School. The camp will run from June 24 to July 17.

Designed for boys and girls between the ages of 5-17 years, the camp is slated to run 10am to 1pm daily. Interested persons can contact coach Smith at Carlton E Francis where he currently runs a basketball camp every Saturday for about 70-80 youngsters.

And during the camp for the fifth consecutive year, Smith will put on an Independence tournament to coincide with the Bahamas 40th Independence celebration.

PRIMARY SCHOOLS

CHAMPIONSHIPS

THE Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture’s annual Frank ‘Pancho’ Rahming National Primary Schools Track and Field Championships that was set to start on Wednesday at the original Thomas A Robinson Track and Field Stadium was postponed because of the inclement weather.

The meet is now scheduled to begin 9am today and wrap up on Friday. More than 70 schools across the Bahamas are expected to participate.

TOURNAMENT

ON HOLD

THE Gym Tennis Club has announced that its annual Members Tournament that is being played at the club in Winton Meadows is currently on hold due to flooding in the Eastern area. The organisers have indicated that they will advise the public on when they will resume play.
