Holy Cross hosts 'A Family Affair'

The Grounds of Holy Cross Church will be transformed into the largest amusement park and entertainment spot the country has seen in recent times, said organisers of the event.

The November 9 fair will run from noon to 9pm. It will focus on providing a wholesome family time in a safe environment. The fair is being held under the theme “It’s a Family Affair” and promises to be action packed with fun for every member of the family from grandparents to great grandchildren.

The fair will have entertainment from the Police force Band, Veronica Bishop and several other local artists, a fire dance and folklore show, Colours junkanoo group, fireworks, the police canine unit, a martial arts display, the backyardigans and other special characters to include Dora and Diego, a three scene fashion show and a full circus. The entertainment will be nonstop as the list of performances is too extensive to be fully detailed.

The annual steak out, Bahamian delicacies prepared before your eyes as well as cuisines from throughout the region will be on sale. The hummingbirds the official association from Jamaican, the Barbadian and Guyanese Association, Pilot and Kiwanis clubs will all be involved or hosting stalls.

The health corner will include free blood pressure, blood glucose, cholesterol testing. A physician will be available to provide free medical counselling. Bring all your medicines and get a free assessment from your pharmacy experts from PGS consultants. Health products from symmetry will be available and their team of experts will be present to advise you on your drug therapy. The church physiotherapist will also be on site to advise in this area as well.

A ten prize raffle which will be drawn on November 30 will also be a part of the fair and a good opportunity to get your tickets in a one stop deal.

A non alcohol, sober environment with unlimited fun for the entire family is being organised.
