Four people are dead after their plane went down in the sea shortly after leaving Grand Bahama International Airport.
The crash occurred shortly after 11am Sunday morning, Supt Stephen Dean said.
Police officers responded quickly to the crash site.
The aircraft was a small plane being used for "sightseeing" - according to Supt Dean.
