Rotary honour for police officer

SUPT Stephen Dean was among those honoured at a Rotary Foundation gala event over the weekend.

The event, which was held at government House under the patronage of Governor General Sir Arthur Foulkes and Lady Foulkes, paid tribute to Rotarians and others in the community who put service above self.

Supt Dean, who is a member of the Rotary Club of Nassau, received the prestigious Rotary Paul Harris Award in recognition of his service to the country and for the efforts of he his colleagues in the Royal Bahamas Police Force to make the Bahamas a safer place to live, work, visit and play.

In addition, $1,000 was donated to the Rotary Foundation in Superintendent Dean’s name.

Contributions to the Rotary Foundation allow Rotarians to continue providing vaccines as they work to rid the world of the disease polio.

The Rotary Foundation also provides grant funding to Rotary clubs to assist with numerous projects.
