TWO men were arraigned in Magistrates Court yesterday in connection with a $26,000 drug find on board an aircraft at the Lynden Pindling International Airport.

Wilshire Beneby, 28, of Millenium Gardens; and 39-year-old Elkino Miller of Freeport, Grand Bahama appeared before Magistrate Andrew Forbes on a charge of possession of dangerous drugs with intent to supply.

It is claimed that on Wednesday, November 7, the men were in possession of 26.4 pounds of marijuana with intent to supply.

On the afternoon in question, Drug Enforcement Unit acted on a tip that led them to the Lynden Pindling International Airport to conduct a search of a private charter aircraft.

The officers discovered the suspected drugs in a travel bag.

The two men were detained at the General Aviation section of the airport.

Both pleaded not guilty and were informed that they would stand trial on March 21, 2014.

They were remanded to Her Majesty’s Prison without bail.
