Officers teach students about illegal firearm consequences

OFFICERS from the Royal Bahamas Police Force’s Firearms Tracing and Investigations Unit (FTIU) visited various schools throughout New Providence yesterday, teaching students about the consequences of illegal firearms.

According to Superintendent Stephen Dean, this initiative is in keeping with the Police Commissioner’s 2013 Policing Plan, which speaks to positive youth engagement.

“It is the Police Force’s hope,” Mr Dean said, “that youngsters are appraised of the dangers of firearms and the damage they can cause to our communities.”
