ANOTHER WEEK of X Factor USA has brought another list of surprises. The return of wild-card contestant Josh Lev, made it a quick elimination for one unlucky contestant in the Top 13.

That unlucky person was 16 year old “Boys Category” contestant Carlos Guevara. Before the contestants took to the stage to sing songs of the 1980s, X Factor hosts Mario Lopez gave Carlos the bad news.

Apparently Carlos failed in convincing America that he needed to stay in the competition for another week. The remaining contestants took to the stage to convince America that it was their time to shine.

Judges Kelly Rowland, Simon Cowell, Paulina Rubio and Demi Lovato looked on as they watched their categories put on a show.
Khaya Cohen performed “Borderline” by Madonna, Ellona Santiago performed “I Wanna Dance With Somebody” by Whitney Houston and Rion Paige took on “We Belong Together” by Pat Benatar.

Carlito Olivero performed “Rhythm Is Gonna Get You” by Gloria Estefan, Tim Olstad performed “Against All Odds” by Phil Collins, and Josh Levi moved to the beat of “Straight Up” by Paula Abdul.

Lillie McCloud took on “Aint Nobody” by Chaka, Jeff Gutt performed “I Just Died In Your Arms Tonight” by Cutting Crew, and Rachel Potter sang “Alone” by Heart.

Restless Road performed “Footloose” by Kenny Loggins, Sweet Suspense performed “Hey Mickey” by Toni Basil, and Alex & Sierra sang “Addicted To Love” by Robert Palmer.

The performances were all fun to watch, but all the fun ended the night after when the elimination results were revealed.

Sweet Suspense was the first act to be sent home. Khaya Cohen and Rachel Potter battled it out in the bottom two. After performing “From This Moment” by Shania Twain, Rachel was eliminated by the judging panel. Khaya survived another day.
