Man beaten to death after stabbing

A MAN was beaten to death Tuesday night after allegedly stabbing a man in the head.

Police say two men were in an altercation which resulted in one of the men being “hit several times in the head with a piece of wood”. He died at the scene.

According to reports, the suspect told police he “hit the man in the head” after the victim stabbed him in the face with a knife.

The Tribune understands the victim is 49-year-old  Raymond Fervius. The other man was taken to the hospital for his injuries and arrested.

Officer in charge of the Central Detective Unit, Paul Rolle, said at this time police have not classified this incident.

They will not be able to say if it is the 100th murder for the year until they get more information.

Meanwhile, police are also investigating a shooting incident that left a man in hospital.

It happened around 7pm on Tuesday.

According to reports, the victim was standing in front of her home at Pine Yard Road, when two males armed with handguns robbed her of her 2001 old Honda Accord and shot her in her leg before escaping in her vehicle.

The woman was taken to hospital where she is listed in stable condition.

Her vehicle was recovered a short while later, abandoned on Pine Yard Road, near Fox Hill Road by Police.

Investigations are ongoing.
