Minister of National Security, Dr. Bernard Nottage.

MINISTER of National Security Dr Bernard Nottage conducted a security assessment of the various ports of entry in the Exuma chain.

With him were his Minister of State Keith Bell, Commissioner of Police Ellison Greenslade and Defence Force Commodore Roderick Bowe.

They visited popular islands including Staniel Cay, Norman’s Cay, Bell Island and Wardrick Wells and took in an aerial view of various sectors of the Exuma chain.

The operation was executed in two parts – the first on a Royal Bahamas Police Force aircraft; the second aboard the Royal Bahamas Defence Force’s Nortec vessel.

Dr Nottage said it was critical for him to accompany the RBDF and RBPF officers on this assessment exercise, as it improved the Ministry of National Security’s ability to make decisions about the security of the Bahamas’ maritime domain.

The minister praised the competency and professionalism of the officers and marines who conducted the exercise.
