A PILOT denied trying to smuggle $250,000 worth of cocaine into Grand Bahama when arraigned in Magistrates Court yesterday.

Dominic Delancey, 25, faces a charge of possession of dangerous drugs with intent to supply concerning the alleged October 5 incident.

On the morning in question, a commerical aircraft landed in Grand Bahama at 7.30am having left from the capital with the pilot on board.

Officers of the Drug Enforcement Unit in Nassau, working with DEU officers in Grand Bahama, searched a box in the pilot’s possession and discovered three kilos of cocaine.

He was arrested and taken into custody.

Delancey pleaded not guilty to the charge when called on to answer to the charge.

His trial date is scheduled for April 7, 2014. He was remanded to Her Majesty’s Prison until that time.
