AFTER a short hiatus, The Truth band is back with a regular performance at one of Nassau’s most popular hang out spots.

Last week was the band’s first official performance at Green Parrot, which was opened with a string of acoustic sets and original songs. Fans of The Truth can listen to the band play for the next few Thursdays.
Before landing Green Parrot as their newest performance venue, the band played regularly at Hammerheads and Bahama Joe’s.

“The shows at Green Parrot will see our band re-enter the world of live performance so we are refreshed and ready to present what we have been working on. People who do not know The Truth can expect a brand new, original sonic experience and those who do know us, know what to expect,” JudahThaLion, band member told In Ya Ear.
“I think Green Parrot is a great place to perform in terms of atmosphere. It is a nice open space, and right next to the water. And plus you can get some great food and drinks while enjoying awesome music,” she said.

Judah said the group has been working consistently on blending genres and are ready to share their new music.

“We are currently working on an EP of a few original songs we have been performing live around the island. Also, we have been working on solo projects. JahBilly, our guitarist, has an upcoming project called the YahChild Project, and I have an EP called Raw Talent, slated for release on Oct 11.
“Anyone who has heard more than one song from TheTruth knows that no two songs are exactly alike. We have been working on genre blending and stretching in our song writing and arrangement. Nevertheless, we still have a keen ear for aesthetically pleasing sounds, so we make certain that the music we create is never so far out of the box that it is unrelatable,” Judah said.
In addition to working on an extended play album, The Truth will also prepare for their second shot at being named best band in the Bahamas at the Global Battle of the Bands Bahamas competition.
This time around they intend to take home the big prize.
The Truth has experienced some changes over the past few months; their short hiatus from the music scene occurred after the band’s drummer, Raquell, moved back to Freeport, her hometown.
“JahBilly and I started focusing more on our solo projects. Nano Mira of the Nomadixx band began playing freelance bass for us, and continues to do so. Raquell recently returned to Nassau and returned to her drum duties. Other than these things, nothing much has changed except for awesome additions to our repertoire of songs,” said Judah.
In addition to working on solo projects and projects with The Truth band, JahBilly is also juggling his duties as new parent. He recently welcomed the newest addition to his family.
“I congratulate Bill and Indy on their brand new beautiful baby girl, Willo,” Judah said.
The band members of TheTruth include JahBilly, Raquell “Quelley” C, JudahThaLion and Nano Mira.
