Businessman dies aged 83

FUNERAL services for Godfrey Egerton Lightbourn, 83, who died at Doctor’s Hospital on Thursday, October 10th, will be held at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Kirk, Princes Street, on Saturday, October 19, at 10am.

Rev. Bryn MacPhail will officiate.

Mr Lightbourn and Mr Eugene Pyfrom founded Cavalier Construction Company in 1956. The company was later sold.

Mr Lightbourn is survived by his wife of 55 years, Vivien Lightbourn; one son Christopher Lightbourn; two daughters Andrea Brownrigg and Alison Ferber; daughter-in-law Christian Lightbourn; two sons-in-law Robin Brownrigg and Shields Ferber; five grandchildren James and Robert Lightbourn, Brittany and Kienan Brownrigg and Stuart Ferber and extended relatives in the Higgs and Lightbourn families.

Instead of flowers, those who wish may make a donation in memory of Mr Lightbourn to either The Cancer Society of The Bahamas or The Bahamas Humane Society.
