A 74-year-old woman died at her home after being stabbed multiple times on Saturday.

The Tribune understands that the woman is Vivian Johnson of Greenway Drive.

Her family said a person who was her favourite family member was assisting the police in their investigation into her death.

“She loved him to death,” one nephew said of the relationship between Ms Johnson and the person they suspect of causing her death.

He added: “Gotta be something he asked her for that she didn’t give him. And after he killed her, he went around driving her new Toyota car like nothing happened.”

Grieving family members said they are relying on their faith in God and the comfort of friends to help them cope with the tragedy.

One of Ms Johnson’s sisters, Angela Hepburn, 76, told The Tribune: “The Lord is my help and He is my guide. I have some church family and church members. They all stood by me the moment they heard of the tragedy. They keeping me in their prayers.”

Ms Johnson had two children and several grandchildren. She was described as a devout member of Evangelist Temple.

She was an employee of BaTelco until she retired in 1998.

Police officers found her lifeless body at her Greenway Drive home off Mermaid Boulevard around 8:20 pm on Saturday.

One of the women’s nephews said when told of her death, he immediately thought she had been robbed, but was later shocked to find out a relative was suspected of her death.

“I was shocked, shocked. I was out, someone called me around 10:30 pm to say they found her dead at her house,” he said, adding that family members have been congregating at a relative’s house to remember her since the news of her death.

It is understood that one of Ms Johnson’s children, Jerome Bethel, a former prison officer and FML Group of Companies security guard, is now serving a 40-year prison sentence for the February 11, 2009 death of Harold Gardiner.
