Man shot dead in Grand Bahama

FREEPORT – A man was discovered shot to death in Freeport over the weekend, pushing the murder count to five on Grand Bahama for the year. The victim’s identity has been withheld. Police are still searching for the gunman.

Inspector Terecita Pinder reported that police received a report around 8pm on Saturday of gunshots being heard in the Fawcett Lane area.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found a black man lying on the ground in front of a residence. He had been shot multiples times in his body.

The victim, who was wearing black trousers and a white shirt, was pronounced dead at the scene by EMS personnel.

Inspector Pinder said investigations are continuing and police are searching for the culprit/s.
