SCORES of dignitaries, executives and locals gathered last night to celebrate the completion and grand opening of the Domestic Arrivals, Departures and International Arrivals Terminal of the Lynden Pindling International Airport.

The terminal, built at a cost of $83.5 million will serve the family islands and all international destinations except the US, which already has a separate terminal now in operation

Passengers arriving from international destinations will continue to arrive as they do now through the international arrivals terminal. It has been opened since October 2012 and is currently used by all non-domestic passengers.

This newest phase will house several Bahamian themed retail shops with dining options featuring local favourites which includ Kalik and conch salad.

Executives of the Nassau Airport Development Company (NAD) who handles the operations of LPIA last night boasted of completing the project on budget and on time.

The entire airport redevelopment project cost $409.5 million.

Ronnie Butler I have loved you like my brother over the years and I pray our tiny Bahamaland will not forget your many contributions, cause if we as a people do, may God help our nation.
