VOLLEYBALL

NPVA ACTION

THE Government Secondary Schools Sports Association continued its 2013 Volleyball League at the Anatol Rogers High School on Monday.

The CC Sweeting Cobras prevailed in three sets over the RM Bailey Pacers in both the senior girls and boys divisions.

In the senior girls’ game, the Cobras knocked off the Pacers 19-5, 17-19 and 15-8 and in the senior boys’ division, the Cobras won 16-19, 19-14 and 15-7.

CITY BOWLING

LEAGUE

THE City Bowling League continued regular season play at Mario’s Bowling and Entertainment Center on Monday night.

Ryan Davis of the Ten Back Strikers emerged as the top bowler. He toppled the pins for a huge 674 three game set. Runner-up MVP of the evening award went to Stan Bethell of Unique Discovery, who mowed down the pins for an outstanding 269 high game and a 659 second high set.

Lee Davis of Ten Back collected the second high game award with a respectable 246 game.

The ladies were led by an outstanding performance from Marina McClain of Carib Construction, who demolished the pins for a gigantic 243 high game and a 626 high set. Xynea Johnson of Phil’s Food Services followed in 2nd place with a 585 three game set.

The second high game was a 212 by Joy Lockhart of Unique Discovery.

BSF TOURNEY

THE Bahamas Softball Federation has announced that its annual Austin ‘King Snake’ Knowles National High School Softball Tournament is slated to be played over the weekend of October 24-26 at the Baillou Hills Sporting Complex. The federation is hoping to attract teams from throughout the Bahamas to participate in the senior boys and girls tournament. The tournament serves as a development for the federation, which looks at talented players to infuse into their senior programme within their affiliated island associations.

BSF NATIONALS

THE Bahamas Softball Federation is all set to hold its National Round Robin and Championship series over the weekend of October 31 to November 3 at the Baillou Hills Sporting Complex.

The event is expected to attract the federation’s affiliated Family Island championship teams in both the men and women divisions, who will get to compete for the national championship title.

BSC SOFTBALL

THE Baptist Sports Council has announced that due to the fact that the Bahamas Softball Federation has to play both its Austin Knowles National High School Tournament this weekend and the National Round Robin Tournament next weekend at the Baillou Hills Sporting Complex, its 2013 Softball Classic will not begin until Saturday, November 9.

As a result of the late start, the league has announced that games will also be played on Tuesday and Thursday nights at the Banker’s Field.
